Tona Boards

I wanted to give everyone the heads up.....I am the new Canadian west coast rep/rider for Tona Boards!!!
Here is the mission statement from the boyz... Welcome to TONA. A company committed to developing superior kite boarding gear by utilizing our greatest asset, YOU, the rider. Our goal is to reach out directly to the source, to gain the best feedback possible through our core community, Kite Scoop, bringing you the gear that you demand to take your riding to the next level. We want to push the progression of the sport offering products that are geared towards the riders needs. Keeping our finger on the pulse of the industry we believe that we can offer something fresh and different.
The Tona Pop brings something fresh back into the kiteboarding world with its unique design and bottom contour. If you are looking for a board that explodes off the water whether its on natural kickers or flat water, without sacrificing any upwind ability, you will love this board. The Pop is stiffer than the average kiteboard on the market, this helps the board hold its static rocker line while riding and also helps generate the maximum amount of energy when you load up to pop off the water. The double concave in the center and deep channels along the rails give the board lots of stablity while riding finless, and the flat surface area out the tail makes for minimal drag and great release off the water on air tricks. The channels are also effective in creating extra surface area, which in turn increases upwind ability. The Pop does not disappoint!
The Driftwood 118 is a product of the ideas that we have collected from our riders over the past few years. Its birth place was on Kite Scoop where wake style movement riders wanted a kite specific skate and the driftwood was born. A skate totally dedicated to kiting. With it’s solid wood 3D CNC shaped deck with raised tips and sides, and the choice of either EVA or grip tape (both come included) you will get the 3D shape with both choices of decking for personalized feel, all in one package. The size and weight was extensively tested and tweaked to suit kiting and the rails fine tuned for optimized feel. Want something fresh to spark up you session? Try the Driftwood, a kiteskate designed with you in mind.

It has a direct feel, is easy to fly, effortless relaunch, unhooks well and has great lift. I'm super stoked to be riding these kites!

ANTANDROY People from the thorns

I just had to post this video! This is absolutely one of the most stunning pieces of art I have seen in a long time! The cinematography is beautiful, the kiting is top shelf, showing some amazing talent in different aspects of the sport and Madagascar looks fabulous! A must watch!!! Enjoy...

"Before leaving, Madagascar was just a wave and some wind.
But once in Lavanono, there is much more than that, we discovered an extraordinary people: the ANTANDROY, the people of the thorns.
We shared two worlds: we surfed on extreme and beautiful spots, and tried to introduce them to our passion; on the other hand, they opened the doors to their village, their customs, their way of life.
Nobody comes back from Lavanono untouched.
Inevitably we all leave a small piece of our heart.
ANTANDROY, more than a kite trip, a timeless journey."

Strapless lessons with Ben Wilson

After  many sessions this season learning the ins and outs of riding strapless, i have been working on downloop transitions, ollies, duck jibes, and unhooked riding,  I've come to a point where i was in search of some advice and instruction from the best of the best.  So to the internet i went in search of some good quality vids that i could use to take my riding to the next level.  Low and behold I found this awesome vid of Ben Wilson showing how to's on the back hand bottom turn!.  Enjoy...

Strapless Kitesurfing...Dirty South!!

The Dirty South is more of a doco style film capturing Ben’s love for the Australian coastline road trip style. The journey begins in Victoria and ends on the Sunshine coast. On the way Ben Wilson & Ian Alldredge hit the prestigious Mambo event, catch up with friends and score the session of a lifetime at one of Ben’s secret spots.

Progressive, aggressive strapless kiting!!  So sweet!

Strapless kitesurfing and MLM...

This will be me soon!

I've recently started learning how to ride "strapless" kitesurfing. I've been kiting for 5 years and mainly focused on freestyle, power moves, and big airs. What I've loved about getting into "strapless" is starting from scratch and getting back to my roots. So here's the thing, I can get out on the water and just ride around not really pushing it but still have an enjoyable experience. I have always taken pride in myself to progress, and if I'm not trying new moves, falling ALOT, and pushing it...I don't really consider it a "good day" sure it's nice to be out enjoying the scenery and soaking it all in, but how does that fulfill my inner desire to learn, progress and get better? It doesn't!!

It's so similar to how I and I'm sure many mlm'ers have run their business', just coasting along enjoying the view and experience but not really pushing it and progressing. Does this sound familiar? It's easy to get stuck, why? The fear of falling or failing? The fear of being ridiculed because I'm trying something different? In order to get better and get to where I wanna go, I must step outside of my comfort zone and into the stretch zone (just bordering on the panic zone)

So how do I get unstuck with kiting, network marketing and life? Yes you got it...push myself to get out of the cozy, warm, familiar "comfort zone" and take the steps to progress in life, sports and business by giving myself the tools and pin-ash to go for it! How?? Watch videos, ask questions,go to events, find mentors who are willing to coach and take consistent daily action.

Check out this awesome vid of some amazing strapless action...This is what its all about for me..progression!!
